$11,000 in Cash Awards for the 2nd Annual National Juried Exhibition 2018, (ANJE), at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, (WMOCA).

All artists, 18 years of age or older and residing in the United States, are encouraged to enter. This is an open-theme exhibit and will become an annual event. The deadline to enter is 11:59 p.m. (Central Time), August 31, 2018.

This year’s juror, Frank Bernarducci, a longtime 57th street art dealer and champion of realist painters, recently opened a 4,000 square foot ground floor space in Chelsea. Bernarducci Gallery exhibits contemporary realist painting, specializing in New Precisionism. The Gallery represents many of the established painters with whom Bernarducci has had a long relationship as well as the work of emerging artists. The premier exhibition is a rotating group survey of New Precisionist painting.

“I am looking forward to launching this next step of my career, creating a high profile environment to more prominently exhibit the artists I have been championing for decades. Chelsea continues to be a burgeoning center of the contemporary art world, and I’m excited to create a space for these New Precisionist painters in such a vibrant part of the city. The artists we are working with are at the pinnacle of their artistic output and this move will maximize our ability to exhibit these extraordinary, highly detailed works to a wider audience.”

Bernarducci began his career as an art dealer following in his father’s footsteps.  Frank Bernarducci Sr., a painter and student of the Hans Hofmann School of Art, was a founding member of the Phoenix Gallery, which was established in 1958 at the height of the abstract expressionist movement, known as The New York School. Bernarducci Gallery will continue Bernarducci’s longstanding interest in realism specifically highly detailed New Precisionist painting, and in bringing both emerging and established artists’ works into the mainstream.

Accepted works will be on exhibit from October 2 through December 29, 2018.

Best of Show will receive $7,500 USD. Second Place will receive $2,500 USD and Third Place will receive $1,000 USD.
